To uninstall previous printer drivers:
  1. Turn the printer on.
  2. Make sure the Dell printer is connected to your computer (USB cable, wireless or wired).
  3. Make sure there is nothing in the print queue.
For more information refer to Dell Knowledge base article How to Cancel a Print Job in the Queue.

Note: Resetting the printer spooler may uninstall your printer driver.
  5. Click the Start button, point to All Programs, point to Dell™ Printers and then point to the listing of your Dell printer and then click the Uninstall Dell Printer icon.
  6. When the Dell Printer Uninstall confirmation window appears, click Yes. This process may take several minutes to complete. Do not attempt to power off the computer at this time.
If you receive an error, refer to the Dell Knowledge Base article Manually Uninstall the Printer Software and Drivers.
  7. When the Dell Printer Uninstallation window appears, click to select the Yes, I want to restart my computer right now (recommended) option, then click OK (the computer automatically shuts down and restarts). After the computer restarts, the printer uninstallation process is complete.
Note: Disconnect the USB cable from the printer as the computer restarts, wait for the installation process to tell you when to reconnect the USB cable.
