» What is a Service Tag or Express Service Code?

The Service Tag is a unique sequence of alphanumeric characters (both numbers and letters) which Dell uses to identify each individual system to facilitate troubleshooting or when making warranty claims. It contains seven alphanumeric characters and is accompanied by a bar code.

Note:
For a desktop or a workstation, the Service Tag can be found on the back or on the side panel of the unit.
