In addition to a white label on the back of the system, a separate service tag label can normally be found attached to the top or side of the system (Figure 1). If the computer has an access panel on the front, the service tag / (ESC) label can normally be found underneath the panel door (Figure 2).

The service tag label can be found on the bottom of a Dell portable computer (Figure 1).

The service tag label is found on the back panel of legacy Dell™ PowerEdge™ Servers.

x8xx and x9xx Servers

The service tag label is found primarily on the back panel of the x8xx and x9xx Dell™ PowerEdge™ Servers.

The service tag label can be found on the bottom of this printer (Figure 1).

All Other Printers

On all other printers, the service tag is located inside the ink/toner cartridge opening.

1. Open the ink or toner cartridge compartment on the printer.

2. The service tag is typically located towards the front on the left or right side.

Below are two examples indicated by the blue dot.

Projectors

The service tag label can be found on the bottom of Dell Projectors (Figure 1).

The service tag label can be found on the back Monitors (Figure 2).

Axim's

On a Dell Axim PDA, both the service tag and the COA label is hidden beneath the battery. The battery must be removed to see these labels.
