1. Insert the Windows XP Home Edition CD into the CD or DVD drive and perform additional tasks.
   
   
2. Click Browse this CD.
   
   
3. Click Value Add.
   
   
4. Click MSFT.
   
   
5. Click NTBackup.
   
   
6. Click NT Back installer.
   
   
7. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the installation of the backup utility.

The Backup utility is not included in the default installation of Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition. The Backup icon is not present on the Start menu, nor is Backup listed in Add or Remove Programs.

This article describes how to install Backup, which is included on the CD-ROM in the Valueadd folder. To use Backup, you have to install it manually.

	Automated System Recovery is not a supported feature in Windows XP Home Edition using Backup, but Backup is provided on the CD-ROM as additional value to help back up critical system data.
