Some Keyboard Key Strokes May Rotate the Image on the Screen

The following chipsets are affected:

  • Intel® Extreme Graphics 845GE
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics 845GV
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics 845G
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics 845GL
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 865G
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 865GV
  • Intel® Extreme Graphics 2 855GM
  1. Image rotation is enabled by default and is activated by the default key combination <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <F1>.

  2. Once it is activated, you can rotate the display with the additional "Hot Keys":
     
    • <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Right Arrow>
    • <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Down Arrow>
    • <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Left Arrow>
    • <Ctrl> + <Alt> + <Up Arrow>

       
  3. If the display has been inadvertently rotated, it can normally be corrected by pushing the key combination <Ctrl> + <Alt>+  <Up Arrow>.

Remove the check from the Enable Hot Keys selection box in the Extended Graphics properties.

» Disable the Intel® 82845G/GL Video Driver Hot Keys Feature

 

  1. Right-click on the desktop.

  2. Click Properties.

  3. In the Display Properties window, click the Settings tab.

  4. Click the Advanced button.

  5. Click the Intel® Graphics Technology tab to access the Configuration page. 

  6. Click the Hot Keys page.
    The Hot Keys page allows the user to either enable or disable the hot keys. The page also provides information on what hot key combinations are supported.

  7. Uncheck the Enable Hot Keys checkbox to disable this feature.

  8. Click OK.

» Additional Information on the Intel Graphics Technology

The Intel® Extreme Graphics Driver also installs a control panel applet that allows quick access to the display configuration options.

  1. Click Start, click Settings, and click Control Panel.

  2. Double click the Intel® Graphics Technology icon.

Depending on the installation options selected, a shortcut for the extended configuration pages may be installed in the systems task bar (System Tray area). Simply click on the Intel® Graphics Technology icon (Figure 2) to show the configuration pages.
