For systems purchased between the following dates, Dell replaced CD media and hard copy manuals with tools available on the computer's hard drive and online. This initiative is applicable for all purchases within the following dates for Dimension and Inspiron:

• Dimension systems - November 17, 2004 to October 16, 2006.
• Inspiron systems (except XPS)- November 22, 2004 to October 16, 2006.

Effectively, utility CDs and hard copy owner's manuals are no longer sent with most Dimension and Inspiron systems.
If your system purchase falls between the above mentioned dates, please refer to the following for additional information:

The following media CDs no longer ship by default on the above mentioned systems:

• Microsoft® Windows® operating system (Recovery) CD
• Resource CD (Drivers)
• Tools CD (Applications)
• Sonic Burn Application CD and Cyberlink Power DVD (unless a Deluxe version was purchased)

Paper copies of the following have also been replaced by .pdf files:

• Owner's Manual
• Service Manual
• Operating System Users Guide
