What is the Dell Driver Download Manager?
The Dell Driver Download Manager is a tool that has been developed by Dell to speed up and enhance the process of downloading files on to your computer.
Why should I use the Dell Driver Download Manager?
The Dell Driver Download Manager offers a fast, more efficient, method of downloading files as well as offering the ability to pause and resume your downloads. When downloading large files, the Download manager tracks and confirms the completeness of your download and virtually eliminates an undetected file corruption from occurring.
Do I have to use the Dell Driver Download Manager to download files?
No, you can still choose to download files via your browser without using the Dell Driver Download Manager as long as you are downloading them one at a time. When you first begin to download a file you will be presented with a pop up screen offering the options to use the Driver Download Manager or Internet browser. If you choose Internet Browser you can download files as you normally would.
However, if you have built a list of drivers to be downloaded-by selecting multiple drivers and adding to your list, you WILL be required to use the Dell Driver Download Manager to download the list of files. You can always choose to switch back to using your browser for downloads by following the instructions in this FAQ.
What is an ISO?
An ISO is a uncompressed format specifically for a CD, DVD, or Blu-ray. Typically used for burning to discs.
When should I use an ISO?
You would use an ISO with the Dell Download Manager to download files using the Download list. ISO can only be burned to a disc or mounted to a virtual drive.

What Operating Systems support the Dell Driver Download Manager?
Currently the Dell Driver Download Manager only supports Windows based Operating systems. Your system must have Windows 2000, Windows XP or above. You also need to have the latest Service Pack available for the Operating System.
Do I have to install something to use the Dell Driver Download Manager?
How can I tell if Microsoft.Net Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 or Microsoft.Net Assistant version 1.0 is installed?
You can verify this from Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs.
Usage
How to use the Dell Download Manager?
If I cancel the download process or if it fails, do I need to restart the download process again from the beginning?
No you can restart the download process from the point it stopped if you are not behind a proxy. The Dell Driver Download Manager offers you the ability to save the progress of your download by adding an icon to your desktop. If you are behind a proxy, you have to start the download process from beginning.
What are the system settings that can interfere with my ability to download software from the internet?
You may need to adjust the following settings to successfully download software:
If you have a firewall or anti-virus software installed, you may have to temporarily disable your computer’s firewall settings.
If your browser displays a security warning, you may need to add Support.Dell.Com to your list of trusted sites.
If Download Notifications are not enabled in your browser’s security settings, then your browser’s security settings may block downloads without displaying any notification.

Troubleshooting
I chose Dell Driver Download Manager but now I no longer want to use it, what do I do.
To make the pop-up screen display again so you can choose the browser option to download, empty the cookies for your internet browser. Choose the option for “Internet Browser” and ensure the Remember my Selection box is checked on the bottom right of the pop up window.
