What Is Single-Ended SCSI? What Is Single-Ended SCSI?

Single-ended SCSI is a hardware standard for connecting SCSI devices. The SCSI bus in a single-ended configuration can be up to 6 meters (19.7 feet) long, or 3 meters (9.8 feet) long if you use Fast SCSI data transfer rates.

Most SCSI devices are single-ended. All Adaptec host adapters except the AHA-1744 are designed for use with single-ended SCSI devices.

Do not use differential SCSI devices on a single-ended SCSI bus. If you do, the devices could be damaged!
