Troubleshooting: Dell Enhanced Multimedia Keyboard User's Guide

Basic Troubleshooting:

If you encounter problems in keyboard operation, attempt the following:

  • Check the cable connection. Make sure that the plug is firmly seated in the correct receptacle of a Dell computer system.
  • Check to see if a key is stuck in the depressed position. If a key is stuck down, the system will usually "beep". Try to release the key from the stuck position. If this problem persists please contact Dell Technical Support.
  • Check to see if you have a non-responsive key. If you notice that pressing a key provides no response make sure you are currently in the active window. If the problem persists, unplug and re-plug the keyboard. If this does not solve the problem, contact Dell Technical Support.
  • The keyboard connector does not support a 'Hot Plug' connection.
  • Hot Keys are not programmable.
  • Check to see if your keyboard is compatible with the Operating System Requirements.
