Introduction: NVIDIA Quadro FX 3000

About the NVIDIA Quadro FX Solution

The NVIDIA® Quadro® FX family of professional GPUs (graphics processing units) delivers fast application performance and the highest quality workstation graphics. In addition to performance and quality, NVIDIA Quadro FX takes the leading computer-aided design (CAD) and digital content creation (DCC) applications to a new level of interactivity by enabling unprecedented capabilities in programmability and precision. NVIDIA Quadro FX allows styling and production rendering to become integral functions of the design workflow, thereby shortening the production process and enabling faster time to market.

Key Features and Benefits

Fifth-Generation Workstation Graphics Architecture. The NVIDIA Quadro FX architecture takes application performance to new levels by featuring three parallel vertex engines, a radically new line engine, the industry’s first on-chip vertex cache, and eight fully programmable pixel pipelines coupled to a high-speed DDR2 graphics DRAM bus.

Full 128-bit Precision Graphics Pipeline enables sophisticated mathematical computations to maintain high accuracy, resulting in unmatched visual quality. Full IEEE 32-bit floating-point precision per color component (RGBA) delivers millions of color variations with the broadest dynamic range.

Third-Generation Vertex and Pixel Programmability
enables real-time shaders to simulate a wide range of physical effects (such as fresnel effects, chromatic dispersion, reflection, refraction, etc.), and surface properties (such as casting effects, porosity, molded surfaces, etc.).

12-bit Subpixel Precision delivers high geometric accuracy, eliminating sparkles, cracks, and other rasterization anomalies.

16X Full-Scene Antialiasing (FSAA) dramatically reduces visual aliasing artifacts or “jaggies” at extremely high resolutions.

High-Performance Display Outputs. 400 MHz RAMDACs and dual-DVI digital connectors are supplied to drive high resolution digital displays.
