Pre-Removal Instructions
Pre-removal steps:
  1. During installation or removal of any hardware, always turn off the computer and ensure that all data is backed up properly.
  2. Disconnect any telephone, network, and USB cables from the computer.
  3. Disconnect the computer and all attached devices from their electrical outlets.
  4. Remove the computer cover.
  5. Remove the top shielding.
  6. Remove the processor fan.
  7. Remove the processor heat sink.
Whenever opening the computer, lay it flat with the LCD facing down on a soft towel or surface that will not scratch the glass face. The foam inserts from the computer packaging can be used to protect the glass face of the LCD. A cleaning/wipe cloth was included with the computer originally that can be used for this purpose.

1. Push down and out on the processor release lever and then pivot it up to release the processor cover.

2. Open the processor cover.

Open the processor cover.

3. Remove the processor from the socket.

Remove the processor from the socket.
