CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.

NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching a connector on the back panel of the computer.

1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.
   
   
2. Remove the palm rest (see Palm Rest).
   
   
3. Remove the card with internal bluetooth^® wireless technology (see Removing the Card With Bluetooth® Wireless Technology).
   
   
4. Remove the consumer infrared board (see Removing the Consumer Infrared Board).
   
   
5. Remove the two screws that secure the power management controller to the computer base.

6. Lift the power management controller to disconnect it from the system board.
