The Dell PowerEdge 24U Rack is a 24 rack-unit (U), 19-inch
server enclosure systems designed to enhance server manageability, serviceability, and
reliability. Each rack-unit is equivalent to 1.75 inches.
The Dell rack enclosure supports the following features:
- Removable doors and side covers
- Removable front and back doors and side-locking panels with key locks
- Retractable keyboard shelf
- Cable guides for system power and data cables
- Split back door
A typical rack enclosure is shown in Figure 1, Rack System Components.
- Power strips and power distribution units
- Monitor shelf
- Switch box for connecting multiple systems to a single monitor,
keyboard, and mouse
- Uninterruptible power source
- Filler panels
