Display Key Combinations

NOTE: To use key combinations on an external keyboard, enable the External Hot Key option in the System Setup program and use <Scroll Lock> instead of <Fn>.
<Fn> down arrow Incrementally increases brightness.

<Fn> up arrow

Incrementally decreases brightness.

<Fn> right arrow

Incrementally decreases contrast on the Latitude CP M200SD (no affect on an active-matrix display).

<Fn> left arrow

Incrementally increases contrast on the Latitude CP M200SD (no affect on an active-matrix display).

<Fn><F5>

Toggles the computer's display between regular video mode and reverse video mode (white on black). This key combination works only if the computer is in text mode; it has no effect if the computer is running a graphical operating system or application program.

<Fn><F7>

Toggles the computer's display between expanded mode and regular video mode. This key combination works only if the computer is in video text mode; it has no effect if the computer is running a graphical operating system or application program.

<Fn><F8>

Switches the video image to the next display in the following sequence: the built-in display, an external monitor, both displays simultaneously.

<Fn><d>

Turns off the built-in display.

Power-Conservation Key Combinations

NOTE: To use key combinations on an external keyboard, enable the External Hot Key option in the System Setup program and use <Scroll Lock> instead of <Fn>.
<Fn><F3> Displays the battery status in the System Setup program.

<Fn><d>

Turns off the built-in display.

<Fn><h>

Turns off the hard-disk drive.

<Fn><Esc>

Activates suspend mode.

<Fn><a> (or <Fn><q> on a French keyboard)

Activates suspend-to-disk mode.

Processing-Speed Key Combinations

NOTE: To use key combinations on an external keyboard, enable the External Hot Key option in the System Setup program and use <Scroll Lock> instead of <Fn>.
<Fn><\> Switches between the microprocessor's maximum speed and a slower compatibility speed

<Ctrl><Alt><\>

In full MS-DOS� mode or in a full-screen DOS box, switches between the microprocessor's maximum speed and a slower compatibility speed

System-Functions Key Combinations

NOTE: To use key combinations on an external keyboard, enable the External Hot Key option in the System Setup program and use <Scroll Lock> instead of <Fn>.
<Ctrl><Alt><Del> Restarts (reboots) the computer in MS-DOS mode. In Windows 95 and Windows NT, click the Start Button and select Shut Down.

<Fn><F1>

Opens the System Setup program.

<Fn><F3>

Opens the battery status screen (Page 3) of the System Setup program.

CD-ROM Drive Key Combination

NOTE: To use key combinations on an external keyboard, enable the External Hot Key option in the System Setup program and use <Scroll Lock> instead of <Fn>.
