Using the Setup Program

For detailed information about the Setup menus and categories,
select the Software Features topic in the online
System Users Guide and search on the menu name.
You can enter the Setup program only when the computer is
booting. Each time you turn on or boot the computer, the
following message appears:
Press <F2> to enter Setup
To open the Main menu of the Setup program, press <F2>
before the message disappears.
From the Main menu, you can access the Peripherals menu, the
Security menu, the Power menu, and the Exit menu.
Change option settings in the menus to customize the
configuration of the computer. You cannot change settings for
options that appear in blue type. The legend at the bottom of
each menu tells you which keys to use for navigating through the
Setup program.

NOTE: When you press <F9>, the computer
displays the default values for each option in that menu.
When you press <F10>, the computer restores the
previous values for each option in that menu. |

CAUTION: The password features provide a high
level of security for the data in the computer. However,
they are not foolproof. If your data requires more
security, it is your responsibility to obtain and use
additional forms of protection, such as data encryption
programs or PC Cards with encryption features. |

NOTE: You can also use the Windows�-based
PowerPanel to control some of the computers power
management features. PowerPanel settings override
corresponding settings in the Power menu of the Setup
program. |
