The I/O connectors on the back of the replicator duplicate
those on the back of your computer, so you can attach any
external device to the replicator that you can attach to the
computer. In addition to the standard I/O connectors, the
replicator has an additional PS/2 connector, a MIDI connector,
three audio connectors, and a security cable slot.
Use the following instructions to connect the replicator to
the computer:
- Save all your work and exit all open application
programs.
- Connect the AC adapter to the port replicator, and plug
the AC power cable into an AC power source.
- Open the connector door on the back of the computer.
Fold over the docking connector panel
inside the connector door, and then close the connector
door.
- Place the computer on the port replicator platform, with
the back of the computer facing the replicator's docking
connector.
Make sure that the grooves on the bottom
of the computer align properly with the platform rails.
- Position your fingers on the platform grips, and use your
thumbs to push the computer forward until the docking
connectors are fully engaged.
If the computer does not properly engage,
do not use force. Remove the computer, and make sure that
the connector door is open.
How you detach the computer from the replicator depends on
which operating system you are using: Microsoft Windows NT,
Windows 95, or Windows 3.x. For information concerning
these procedures, see the Port Replicator
document.
