Using the Setup Program
For detailed information about the Setup menus and categories, see the online System User's Guide.
You can enter the Setup program only when the computer is booting. Each time you turn
on or boot the computer, the Dell logo screen appears.
To open the Main menu of the Setup program, press <F2> before
the Dell logo screen disappears.
From the Main menu, you can access the System Devices
menu, the Security menu, the Power menu, the Boot
menu, and the Exit menu.
Change option settings in the menus to customize the configuration of the computer. The
legend at the bottom of each menu tells you which keys to use for navigating through the
Setup program.

NOTE: Press <F9> to restore the default values for each
option in a menu. To save changes and exit from the Setup program, press <F10>.
Press <F5> or <F6> to change the value for an option. |


NOTICE: The password features provide a high level of security for the data in
the computer. However, they are not foolproof. If your data requires more security, it is
your responsibility to obtain and use additional forms of protection, such as data
encryption programs or PC Cards with encryption features.
