CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions that shipped with your computer. |
The hinge covers are not interchangeable; the left one covers the DisplayPort connector and the right one covers the RJ-45 network connector.
- Follow the procedures in Before Working on Your Computer.
- Remove the bottom of the base assembly (see Removing the Bottom of
the Base Assembly).
- Remove the M2.5 x 5-mm screw from each hinge cover.
- Slide each hinge cover forward and lift to remove it.

Replacing the Hinge Covers
- Slide the left hinge cover over the DisplayPort connector and slide the
right hinge cover over the RJ-45 network connector.
- Replace the M2.5x5-mm screw in each hinge cover.
- Replace the bottom of the base assembly (see Replacing the Bottom of the
Base Assembly).
- Follow the procedures in After Working on Your Computer.
