Removing the Speaker
Replacing the Speaker
CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions shipped with your computer.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as the back panel) on the computer.
Removing the Speaker
Follow the instructions in Before You Begin .
Remove any card installed from the ExpressCard slot.
Remove any installed memory modules and the WLAN card (see Memory
Module and WLAN Card ).
Remove the hard drive (see Hard Drive ).
Remove the display assembly (see Display ).
Remove the palm rest (see Palm Rest ).
Remove the two M2 x3-mm screws that secure the speakers to the
computer base.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the speaker connector on the system
board.

Replacing the Speaker
Connect the speaker cable to the speaker connector on the system board.
Replace the two M2 x3-mm screws that secure the speakers to the
computer base.
Replace the palm rest (see Palm Rest ).
Replace the display assembly (see Display ).
Replace the hard drive (see Hard Drive ).
Replace the WLAN card and the memory modules (see WLAN Card and
Memory Module ).
Replace the card in the Expresscard slot.
Slide the battery into the battery bay, until it clicks into place.
