  Removing the ExpressCard Reader

  Replacing the ExpressCard Reader


CAUTION: Before performing the following procedures, follow the safety instructions shipped with your computer.
NOTICE: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching a connector on the back panel of the computer.

Removing the ExpressCard Reader

  1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.

  2. Remove any card installed in the ExpressCard slot.

  3. Remove the display assembly (see Display).

  4. Remove the palm rest (see Palm Rest).

  5. Remove the three M2 x 3-mm screws that secure the ExpressCard reader to the computer base.

ExpressCard reader

  1. Lift the ExpressCard reader to disconnect it from the system board.


Replacing the ExpressCard Reader

  1. Secure the ExpressCard reader to the computer base by replacing the three M2 x 3-mm screws.

  2. Replace the palm rest (see Palm Rest).

  3. Replace the display assembly (see Display).

  4. Replace any card installed in the ExpressCard slot.

  5. Slide the battery into the battery bay, until it clicks into place.
