Pins 2-3 jumpered
(Maintenance mode) |
 |
Starting the system with the jumper set
in Maintenance mode automatically starts the system setup
program, adds the Maintenance option to
the menu bar, and displays the Maintenance
screen. This screen provides 2 options: Processor
Speed and Clear All
Passwords. CAUTION: Entering
Maintenance mode returns all settings in the system setup
program to their defaults. Dell strongly recommends that
you record or print all current settings before entering
this mode so you can correct them when the system is
reset to Normal mode.
- Processor speed
Options are 350 MHz,
400 MHz, and 450
MHz.
NOTE: Before leaving
Maintenance Mode, reset Processor
Speed to match
the system's processor speed.
CAUTION:
Setting a processor's speed to greater than its
rated value can cause damage to the processor.
- Clear All Passwords
Disables a forgotten password so that you
can access the system and/or assign new
passwords. For the complete password procedure,
see "Disabling a Forgotten Password" in
Appendix B of the Reference
and Troubleshooting Guide.
