1 Diskette-drive access indicator — Lights up when a diskette drive is being accessed. 4 Microphone jack — Used to attach a standard personal computer microphone.
2 USB port connector (one on the front of the computer and one on the back) — Attaches USB-compliant devices, such as keyboards, mice, printers, and computer speakers. 5 Hard-disk drive access indicator — Lights up when a hard-disk drive is being accessed.
3 Headphone jack — Used to attach a standard set of commercially available stereo headphones. 6 Power— Turns computer on and off. Lights up when the computer is on. Press and hold for 4 seconds to shut down the computer.

1 Voltage selection switch — Must be set to match the voltage available in your location (115 V in Japan).

CAUTION: Setting the voltage selection switch incorrectly can damage your system.

6 Parallel port connector — Used primarily for printers (also referred to as LPT1).
2 AC power receptacle — Used to attach the computer power cable, which provides power to the computer from a wall outlet. Be sure to use only the three-prong, grounded power cable provided with your system. 7 Video connector —  Used to attach a VGA-compatible monitor.
3 Mouse connector — Used to attach a PS/2-compatible mouse. 8 Padlock ring — Provides extra security.
4 Keyboard connector — Used to attach a PS/2-style keyboard. 9 USB port connector (one on the front of the computer and one on the back) — Attaches USB-compliant devices, such as keyboards, mice, printers, and computer speakers.
5 Serial port connector — Supports devices such as external modems or plotters that require serial transmission. 10 Line-out jack — Used to attach most computer speakers.

Padlock Ring

1 Padlock ring

On the back of the computer is a padlock ring for attaching a commercially available theft-deterrent device. The padlock ring allows you to secure the computer cover to the chassis with a padlock to prevent unauthorized access to the inside of the computer. To use the padlock ring, insert a commercially available padlock through the ring, and then lock the padlock.
