Removing/Installing DIMMs: Dell™ Dimension™ XPS Dxxx Systems

To remove a DIMM, press down and out on the securing clips at each end of the socket. The DIMM should pop up and out of the socket.

To install a DIMM, first ensure that the securing clips are in the "release" (spread) position. Then align the keys (crossbars in socket and cutouts in DIMM; see step 1 below), and insert the DIMM firmly into the socket, ensuring that it fits into the vertical guides at each end of the socket. Press firmly until the DIMM snaps into place and the securing clips snap into the cutouts in the DIMM (see step 2).
