Jumper Locations | Jumper Settings
Set the jumpers on the back of the drive in accordance with the configuration of your
computer system. The jumpers are preset to the CSEL position.

Description |
| Master (MA) |
 |
Configures the drive as the master.
Set the DVD+RW drive as master if the drive is the only device connected to the IDE card. |
| Slave (SL) |
 |
Configures the drive as the slave.
Set the DVD+RW drive as slave if the drive is daisy-chained with a hard-disk drive on an IDE card. |
| CSEL (CS) |
 |
Configures the drive by using host interface signal CSEL (Cable Select).
This is the default setting for Dell desktop and workstation systems. |
 |
NOTE: Do not use any other jumper setting. If no jumper is present the drive will default to Cable Select.
