The recorded CD-R/RW can be played on any multi-read CD-ROM Player,
maintaining future compatibility.
Supports UDF for easy writing to CD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW discs.
Improved Buffer Under Run Error handling through the Active Link function.
1. Continuously monitors the signal
level during recording and adjusts the laser power to compensate when the disc
is dirty, insuring a flat signal.
Important Precautions
WARNING: Only drives (such as the NEC ND-1100A) bearing
the logo "DVD+ReWritable" can write or erase DVD+RW media and
"Compact Disc ReWritable High Speed" can write or erase
High-Speed CD-RW media. High Speed CD-RW Media may be recognized by the same "Compact
Disc ReWritable High Speed" logo on the disc label or packaging
material, or by the fact that it lists recording speeds of "4X to
10X," or, "Up to 10X." Attempted writes to High Speed CD-RW media using CD-RW drives NOT
bearing the logo "Compact Disc Rewritable High Speed" may
result in data loss.
WARNING: Only drives bearing the logo "Compact
Disc ReWritable Ultra Speed" can write or erase Ultra-Speed CD-RW
media. Ultra Speed CD-RW Media may be recognized by the same "Compact
Disc ReWritable Ultra Speed" logo on the disc label or packaging
material, or by the fact that it lists recording speeds of "10X to
32X," or, "Up to 32X."
Attempted writes to Ultra Speed CD-RW media using CD-RW drives NOT bearing
the logo "Compact Disc Rewritable Ultra Speed" may result in
data loss.
WARNING: Avoid placing the drive in a location subject to
high humidity
high temperature
excessive dust
mechanical vibration
direct sunlight
WARNING:
Do not suddenly move the drive from a cold environment to a warm
environment. Condensation may occur within the drive, causing
temporary abnormal operation.
Remove any disc from the drive prior to moving the drive. Failure to
do so may result in damaged discs and data loss.
Prevent foreign objects, such as liquids or metal, from entering the
drive.
Do not interrupt the electric power while the drive is operating.
WARNING: Please backup (copy) all important data as
protection against data loss.
WARNING: Don't pull out or push in the disc tray
forcibly. This might cause damage to the loading section of the drive.
WARNING: Be careful to connect power with the proper
polarity. Connecting the wrong way may damage the system (and voids the
warranty). Usually the power connector can only be attached one way.
WARNING: Do not connect or disconnect cables when the
power is on, as this could cause a short circuit and damage the system.
Always turn the power OFF when connecting or disconnecting cables.
WARNING: The discs in this unit operate at a very
high speed. DO NOT use damaged, cracked or warped discs. The drive's
optical unit may be damaged if they break. DO NOT use non-standard discs.
Non-standard discs may not play or store data properly.
WARNING: When using CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, or DVD+RW
discs, don't attach any stickers or labels to the discs. Using discs with
labels attached not only causes read and write errors, but data on the
disc may be lost due to damage to the disc itself.

Occasionally the DVD+R/RW & CD-R/RW discs written by the DVD+R/RW &
CD-R/RW drive cannot be read by other CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drives. These unreadable
discs should be read using the DVD+R/RW & CD-R/RW drive on which they were
written.
