The WD Caviar SATA WD800JD hard drive has a jumper block located next to the legacy ATA
power connection on the drive. WD Caviar SATA drives ship from the factory with Spread
Spectrum Clocking disabled. The following table describes the jumper options:
SSC Mode
Spread spectrum clocking feature enabled or disabled. Default setting
is disabled or jumper shunt is removed from pins 1-2. Installing the jumper will enable
the spread
spectrum clocking feature.
