Preface: Dell PowerVault 660F and 224F Storage Systems Service Manual
A prerequisite for using this manual to service Dell systems is a
basic knowledge of IBM�-compatible
PCs and prior training in IBM-compatible PC troubleshooting techniques. In addition to
information provided in this manual and in the User's Guide that came with the
system, Dell provides the Installation and Troubleshooting Guide for
troubleshooting procedures and instructions on using Dell Diagnostics to test the computer
system.
The sections are summarized as follows:
- "Safety Instructions" Lists
safety guidelines and precautions you should take to ensure your own safety and help
protect your system from potential damage.
- "System Overview" Provides
an overview of the system's service features and technical specifications.
- "Removing and Replacing Parts"
Describes the removal and replacement of all field-replaceable parts, including
power supplies, cooling modules, I/Omodules, LS modules, and SCSI hard-disk drives.
