Installing Data CLI: Dell OpenManage Data CLI
for NT Installation and Operation
Overview Hardware
and software requirements Data CLI
Installation
This chapter describes the following:
- Hardware and software requirements
- Data CLI Installation
- Removing Data CLI
To use Data CLI, the host must meet the following requirements:
- A PC running Windows NT 4.0
- A configured TCP/IP network connection to any remote Data Agent that will be managed
 |
NOTE: You should install the Data CLI on
only one NT host in your network. We recommend that you install the Data CLI on the
management station. |
The Dell Managed Node CD contains three Dell OpenManage Data software packages:
Data CLI, Data Agent, and Data Integrator. You can install them all or select which you
want to install. You must install Data Agent on all servers with arrays that you will
manage. If you will manage them from the Dell NNM SE, you must also install Data
Integrator on these servers. The procedure in this section assumes that you want to
install just Data CLI. If you want to install the other packages along with Data CLI, use
the installation procedure in the Dell OpenManage Data Agent for NT
Installation and Operation Guide (P/N 3967C).
If a version of the Managed Node software is already installed, remove it as described
next before installing Data CLI.

manually using Microsoft Explorer. |
