What's New for Version 2.2

Dell OpenManage™ Server Administrator Version 2.2 User's Guide

  • Added support for Dell™ PowerEdge™ systems 830 and 850

  • Added support for VMWare 2.5.1 ESX service console

  • Added support for Demand Based Switching (DBS) using BIOS

To set up DBS using BIOS, in Sever Administrator, select System® Main System Chassis® BIOS® Setup and select the Enable button. BIOS setup using DBS is disabled by default.

  • Added support for binding webserver to loopback adapter

Server Administrator allows you to configure your webserver to bind to the loopback adapter. Once the loopback adapter is configured for loopback, you cannot access the Server Administrator user interface remotely. You can only configure the system using a terminal session or by being present at the system. To set loopback, at the remote system, go to the Preferences page and set the IP address to 127.0.0.1.

  • Added processor multi-core support

You can view the number of cores in a socket using Server Administrator. To view core count, select Server Administrator® System® Processors.
