Overview

Dell Resolution Assistant 3.1 is a problem diagnostic program that connects your system to your support provider's system. The system to which your system connects is called the Motive Server. Through the Motive Server, your support provider can work with you to resolve problems or perform preventive maintenance on your system, depending on the level of interaction you select. The support provider for your particular system is Dell.

Resolution Assistant 3.1 can run hardware and software configuration diagnostics that alert you to a problem. You can then resolve a problem yourself or generate a service request to escalate a problem to your support provider.

Depending on your connection and security settings, Resolution Assistant 3.1 allows your support provider to run additional diagnostic programs on your system and to resolve a problem remotely.

Resolution Assistant is engineered to diagnose and assist correction of problems on individual systems. It does not address problems that arise on the network level, unless the problem resides with a network interface card (NIC) on a single system.
