Installing Drivers: EZ-SCSI 5.0 Standard Edition User's Guide
Installing
Windows 95 Drivers
When you install a new host adapter or SCSI device, Windows 95 will detect it at system
startup and start the Add New Hardware wizard so that you can install the necessary
drivers. However, if the Add New Hardware wizard does not appear, use these instructions
to start the wizard manually.
- Start Windows 95.
- Insert the EZ-SCSI Windows 95/NT drivers
disk into your floppy disk drive.
- Click the Start button, point to Settings,
and then click Control Panel
- In the Control Panel, double-click Add
New Hardware.
- Follow the instructions that appear on each
screen.
- When you enter the screen shown below,
select SCSI controllers, and then click Next.

- The next screen appears below. Click Have
Disk.
Since you'll use an installation disk, click Have Disk.
- In the Install from Disk window,
enter the <floppy disk drive letter> in the command line if it isn't displayed, and
then click OK.
- Select your SCSI host adapter from the
list, and then click OK.
- Restart your computer after the drivers are
installed.
- To install EZ-SCSI, go to Installing EZ-SCSI in Windows 95.
Installing
Windows NT 4.0 Drivers
Follow these instructions to install Windows NT 4.0 drivers if you installed a new host
adpater or SCSI device.
- Start Windows NT 4.0.
- Insert the EZ-SCSI Windows 95/NT drivers
disk into your floppy disk drive.
- Click the Start button, point to Settings,
and then double-click Control Panel.
- Double-click the SCSI Adapters icon.
- In the SCSI Adapters window, click
the Drivers tab.

- Click Add.
- In the Install Driver window, click Have
Disk.
- Type <floppy disk drive
letter>:\winnt in the Install from Disk window.
For example: a:\winnt
- Click OK.
- In the Install Driver window, select
your host adapter from the SCSI Adapter list, and then click OK.

- If the next window appears, click New.
Windows NT Setup window
- In the next window, type the <floppy
disk drive letter> and then the path appearing at the end of the screen message.
The example below displays the path you'd
enter if your host adapter belonged to the AHA-294x, AHA-394x, AHA-4944, or AIC-78xx
family.

- Click Continue.
- In the System Settings Change
window, click Yes.
Installing
Windows NT 3.51 Drivers
Use these instructions to install the appropriate drivers for a new host adapter or
SCSI device(s).
- Start Windows NT 3.51.
- Insert the EZ-SCSI Windows 95/NT drivers
disk into your floppy disk drive.
- In the Main window, double-click Windows
NT Setup.
- In the Windows NT Setup window, go
to the Options menu, and then click Add/Remove SCSI Adapters.
- In the SCSI Adapter Setup window
shown below, click Add.

- In the Setup Message window shown
below, click OK.

- In the SCSI Adapter Options window,
click Other (Requires a disk from a hardware manufacturer.).
- In the Insert Disk window, type
<floppy disk drive letter>:\winnt
See the example below. Click OK.

- In the Select OEM Option window,
click the appropriate driver, and then click OK.
In example below, the selected driver is
appropriate for Adaptec PCI host adapters.

- In the Select SCSI Adapter Option
window, click Install.
- Click New.
- In the Windows NT Setup window, type
the <floppy disk drive letter> and then the path at the end of the screen message,
such as shown below.
This example displays the path you'd enter if your host adapter were in the AHA-294x,
AHA-394x, AHA-4944, or AIC-78xx family.
- Click Continue.
- In the SCSI Adapter Setup window,
click Close.
- In the Setup Message window, click OK
to restart your computer.
