TrueMobile GPRS Manager Icon Errors
Please read all restrictions and disclaimers
This section lists some problems that you might encounter while using your Dell TrueMobile 5100 Tri-band GPRS PC Card. Some problems require you to contact your service provider, but most of the problems you can easily correct yourself.

Indicates that the Radio is turned off. Right click the TrueMobile GPRS Manager and select Turn On. |
|
|
Indicates that the Dell TrueMobile 5100 Tri-band GPRS PC Card cannot find a network, there is no network within range or the received signal is too weak. You have to move to get a stronger signal. |
|
|
Indicates that a GSM network is present, but no GPRS service is available. This can be caused by; no GPRS service in the area, you are trying to roam on a network for which no GPRS roaming agreement exists or there is a temporary fault on the network. Contact your network operator for more details. |

Grey menu options in the software applications |
Grey text indicates a function that is temporarily unavailable, for example due to your subscription or due to a certain setting which has not been turned on. |

Modem not responding.... Error |
Check the radio is turned on. |

Connection fails |
Try to connect again. |
|
Wrong PIN/ Wrong PIN2 |
You have entered your PIN or PIN2 incorrectly. Enter the correct PIN or PIN2, and click OK . See SIM lock. |

Codes do not match |
When you want to change a security code (for example your PIN) you have to confirm the new code by entering it again. This error occurs when the two codes, that you have entered do not match. See Phone lock. |
|
PIN blocked/ PIN2 blocked |
You have entered your PIN or PIN2 incorrectly three times in succession. To unblock, see SIM lock. |
|
PUK blocked - contact operator |
You have entered your personal unblocking key code (PUK) incorrectly 10 times in succession. Contact your network operator or service provider. |
Note: Many networks do not provide highly specific error codes. For example, "Requested service not subscribed" may also mean that you have entered the APN name incorrectly.
| Connection Failed or Activation Failed |
No specific reason for failure is available. Wait a few minutes and try again. If you continue to get this error check your connection settings or call your service provider for help. |

Connection Failed. Invalid User name or Password. |
Choose to modify your connection in the Connection Wizard. Go to the User ID screen and re enter the User Name and Password given to you by your service provider. If you were not supplied with a User Name and Password leave the fields blank. Contact your service provider if you continue to have problems. |

Connection Failed. Invalid APN |
The APN entry is incorrect, the signal is weak or the connection is lost whilst dialing. Choose to modify your connection in the Connection Wizard. Go to the Access Point Name screen and re enter the APN. If the problem continues contact your service provider. |
| Connection Failed. Unregistered SIM. | Your SIM is not registered with your service provider. Please contact your service provider. |
| Connection Failed. Invalid Profile | Your service provider doesn't recognise you. Check the setting you have entered to create your connection. If you still get the error contact your service provider and check you have GPRS Internet enabled on your subscription. Then check the settings you entered to create your connection are correct. |
| Disconnected from Network | You have been disconnected from the network. Wait a few minutes and try again. If the problem persists contact your service provider. |
| Connection Failed. Service not supported. | This may be caused by incorrectly entered information in the Connection Wizard. Choose to carefully recheck that all required information has been entered correctly. If the problem continues please contact your Service Provider. |
| Connection Failed. Not authorized to access network or Access to network not allowed. | This may be caused because your subscription or account does not permit or include the required privelege. Please contact your Service Provider for assistance. |
| Connection Failed. SIM is invalid for GPRS service. | This may be caused because your subscription or account does not permit or include GPRS service access. Please contact your Service Provider for assistance. |
| Connection Failed. Roaming not allowed. | This may be caused because your subscription or account does not permit roaming access in a particular location or network. Please contact your Service Provider for assistance. |
| Connection Failed. Requested service not subscribed. | This may be caused because your subscription or account does not permit or include access to this service option. Please contact your Service Provider for assistance. |
| Connection Failed. Temporary Network Problem or Network Problem. | This may be caused by temporary problems in the network. Please try again later. If the problem continues please contact your Service Provider. |
| Connection Failed. PPP Error. | This indicates a PPP conversation started, but it was terminated because the remote server did not respond within an appropriate time. This can be caused by a network problem or a problem with the server (ISP). Wait a few minutes and try again. |
| Connection Failed. No response from network. | This may be caused if you try to connect to the GPRS network before the GPRS service indication appears in the GPRS Manager status window. Wait until the GPRS service indication is available and retry. This error may also be caused by problems in the network. In this event please try again later. If the problem continues please contact your Service Provider. |
| Connection Failed. GPRS Modem is busy. | This may be cause because another application (e.g. Fax or other data communications program) is holding open the COM port assigned to the TrueMobile 5100 Tri-band GPRS PC Card. Choose to shut down the other application and retry the GPRS connection. |
