Dell's TrueMobile� 1100 Series Wireless LAN Adapter
Utilities
To install the
TrueMobile Diagnostics, TrueMobile SignalMeter, and TrueMobile WEPKey
utility, follow these steps (If your Dell system was purchased with
an 1100 Series Wireless LAN Adapter the utilities are already
installed):
1. Insert the Dell
TrueMobile 1100 Series CD into your computer's CD-ROM
drive.
2. Click Start > Run
and type D:\utilities\setup.exe where "D" is your CD-ROM's drive
letter.
3. Click
"Next"..
4. Click
"Next".
5. Click
"Next".
6. Click "Finish" to
complete the installation
Now that you have
completed Installation, you must configure the card's network
settings.
Setting the Client
Name and SSID
1. Start the TrueMobile
Diagnostics utility by clicking Start->Programs->Dell
TrueMobile->TrueMobile Diagnostics
2. From the Commands
menu select Edit Properties… and the window below
appears.
3. Enter your Client
Name and SSID value(s). (Note: The SSID value is case
sensitive.)
4. Click on
OK.
Configuring
WEP
WEP Keys are used for
over the air data encryption. To set the keys:

NOTE:If your access point does not
have WEP enabled this step should be skipped.

1. Start the WEPKey
Utility by clicking Start->Programs->Dell
TrueMobile->TrueMobile WEPKey Utility
2. Enter the Password
(the default is "Aironet")
3. Select Commands then
Enter WEP Key… and the window below appears.
4. Enter all your WEP
information and then click OK. Click OK again when
complete.
5. The last step is to
enable WEP in the TrueMobile Diagnostics utility. Click
Start->Programs->Dell TrueMobile->TrueMobile
Diagnostics
6. From the Commands
menu select Edit Properties…Then click on the RF Network tab and
click Enable WEP then OK
Your setup is now
complete!
