Display Data Channel (DDC) Plug and Play (PnP)

Your monitor supports VESA DDC level 2AB. Only computers that support the same standard and operate at the same or a higher level can use this feature. If your computer does not support this standard, you can still use the monitor with your computer, but you may need to specify manually the proper display resolution.

PowerSaver Power Management Function

The monitor is equipped with a power management function. If the computer is left idle, the PowerSaver function gradually reduces the power consumption of the monitor to a fraction of its normal consumption.

The PowerSaver function requires a computer with VESA DPMS power management capabilities. When used with a computer equipped with VESA DPMS, the monitor is Energy Star compliant.

If left idle, the computer switches the monitor to the stand-by state and blanks the screen. The image returns after you touch any key on the keyboard or move the mouse. If the computer remains idle for several minutes (selectable by using the computer's system setup program), the monitor switches to a power-off state in which its power consumption is less than 1 W. Before closing, the screen displays a PowerSaver Active message. The monitor returns to normal operation within 20 seconds after you start to use the computer again.

Synchronization

Addressable Resolution Refresh Rate (Typical)
1280 x 1024 85 Hz
1152 x 872 100 Hz
1024 x 768 110 Hz

Troubleshooting

Symptom Possible Solution
Screen is blank and the power-on indicator is not on. Make sure the power cord is properly connected to a working AC power source.

Make sure the power switch is in the On position.

Turn off and unplug the monitor from the power outlet for one minute, reconnect the monitor to the outlet, and turn on the monitor.

Check the signal cable's connector pins for damage.
Screen is blank and the power-on indicator is on. Make sure the video cable is properly connected. Make sure no pins are bent or missing on the video connector.

Make sure the keyboard cable is properly connected.

Turn off and unplug the monitor from the power outlet for one minute, reconnect the monitor to the outlet, and turn on the monitor.

Make sure the video card is seated completely in the proper bus slot.
Picture is scrambled. Make sure the graphics mode and frequency of the video card are supported by the monitor. Even within the proper range, some video cards may have a sync pulse that is too narrow for the monitor to synchronize correctly.
Color is not uniform. Degauss the monitor.

Move electrical (magnetic) devices away from the monitor. If the monitor is close to another monitor, move the monitors further apart. If there is electrical wiring behind the wall, move the monitor away from the wall.
Screen image is not centered or sized properly. Adjust the size, shape, or position of the display.
White lines show red or blue shades at edges. Degauss the monitor.

This error is caused by poor convergence, which is not a user-adjustable property.
Picture is fuzzy. Adjust the contrast and brightness controls.

Adjust the
moire setting.
Picture is ghosting. Make sure the signal cable is properly connected.
Picture bounces or has wavy oscillations. Move electrical (magnetic) devices away from the monitor. If the monitor is close to another monitor, move the monitors further apart. If there is electrical wiring behind the wall, move the monitor away from the wall.
Wavy or elliptical (moire) pattern is visible. Adjust the moire setting.
The message SIGNAL OUT OF RANGE appears on the screen. Make sure the video synchronization signal is specified for the monitor.
The message CHECK SIGNAL CABLE appears on the screen. Make sure the signal cable is properly connected to the computer.
