The drive cage at the front of the system holds up to 3 user-accessable, half-height,
5.25-inch storage devices. The internal hard-disk drive bracket next to the power supply
holds up to 2 half-height, 3.5-inch EIDE or SCSI hard-disk drives.
The System board provides a primary EIDE hard-disk
drive interface (PRI IDE), a secondary EIDE device interface (SEC IDE), and a
diskette/tape controller (FLOPPY or J8G1).
The secondary IDE interface is for use with EIDE devices such as tape drives or CD
ROMs.

NOTE: Without special drivers, MS-DOS� will not recognize more than
2 physical hard-disk drives. There are no drivers available to allow this system to
recognize more than 2 EIDE hard-disk drives. |
Both IDE interfaces support LBA mode, PIO mode3, and PIO mode4 data transfers.
Hard-Disk Drive Cooling Fan
The hard-disk drive cooling fan assembly is installed only if a large, high-capacity
hard-disk drive is installed in the hard-disk drive bracket (typically a SCSI 700-MB or
larger hard-disk drive).
