Hard-Disk Drives

The system provides 2 internal 1-inch (3.5-inch) and 3 external 5.25-inch drive bays. The system board provides a primary IDE interface (IDE1), a secondary IDE interface (IDE2), and a diskette/tape interface connector (FDD CON).

The secondary IDE interface is not for use with hard-disk drives, but for slower IDE devices such as tape drives or CD-ROM drives. Without special drivers, MS-DOS will not recognize more than 2 physical hard-disk drives. There are no drivers available to allow this system to recognize more than 2 IDE hard-disk drives.
