There are 3 user-accessible drive bays for diskette, tape, and
CD-ROM drives.

Hard-Disk Drives
The internal drive bracket can hold a mix or match of up to 2
half-height IDE and/or SCSI drives.

NOTE: Connector IDE2 is intended for
IDE CD-ROM and tape drives when they become available.
Hard-disk drives cannot be used on connector IDE2. Like
IDE1, it can support a maximum of 2 devices. IDE2 is
accessed via the slower ISA bus rather than the VL-Bus�. |

If a 1-GB SCSI drive is installed, an extra
cooling fan is required.

NOTE: To perform the following
steps, refer to the OEM instructions for the SCSI device
being installed. Details of ID number jumpers,
terminations, and so on can be found there. |
- Assign the SCSI ID numbers.
- Terminate the SCSI devices.
- Install a SCSI host adapter, if
not already installed.
