The system unit provides 2 internal 1-inch (3.5-inch form factor), 3 external 5.25-inch and 1 external 3.5-inch drive bay.
The system board provides a primary IDE hard-disk drive interface (PCI IDE), a secondary IDE device interface (ISA IDE), and a diskette/tape controller (FLOPPY).
The secondary IDE interface is for use with IDE devices such as tape drives or CD-ROMs. Without special drivers, MS-DOS will not recognize more than 2 physical hard-disk drives. There are no drivers available to allow this system to recognize more than 2 IDE hard-disk drives.

NOTE: Dell provides technical support for up to 4 IDE devices installed on your system provided that not more than 2 of those devices are hard-disk drives and the remainder are CD-ROM drives or tape drives. |
