The power supply-on signal is an active-low signal that turns on (and off) all power supply outputs except the +5 VSP (volts standby power). The +5 VSP is on anytime the power supply is connected to an AC power source.

System Battery

The system battery is a 3.0-V lithium backup battery, which is located on the system board in the battery socket (B2). This battery provides power to the nonvolatile random-access memory (NVRAM) when the computer is off, enabling the NVRAM to retain the date, time, and important system configuration information.
