Replace the cover, reconnect to power, and turn on.
After POST, the computer displays the total amount of SIMM memory installed.
NOTE: If the amount is incorrect, turn off and disconnect the computer,
remove the cover, and make sure the SIMMs are seated properly in their sockets.
Then repeat step 4.
If the system detects that the new memory does not match the system configuration
information in NVRAM, the following error message appears:
The amount of system memory has changed.
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility.
Enter System Setup to check SYSTEM MEMORY.
If the total is still incorrect, check the SIMMs again to make sure they are
properly installed.
When SYSTEM MEMORY is correct, insert the diagnostics diskette into drive A and
reboot.
Run the RAM Test Group in the diskette-based diagnostics to test all installed
SIMMs.
Systems with Intel486 SX or SX2 microprocessors can be upgraded by installing 128 KB of
cache memory (this memory is standard on systems with IntelDX2 and IntelDX4
microprocessors).
