Expansion Cards
The system provides for up to 6 ISA expansion cards; with the optional VESA riser card installed, the system can support up to 2 cards adhering to the VL-Bus specification.
ISA Expansion Slots
6 ISA 16-bit expansion-card connectors reside on the ISA riser board. The riser board (considered an extension of the system board) plugs into the bridge board, which plugs into the RISER connector on the system board.
The expansion-card connectors are labeled "ISA1" through "ISA6."

VESA Expansion Slots
The VL-Bus provides a standardized interface that lets certain high-speed peripherals connect directly to the microprocessor's local bus. The optional VESA riser card plugs into the bridge board, which then plugs into the VESA riser card connector (RISER_2) on the system board.
Expansion-Slot Limitations
VL-Bus expansion cards must also connect to the ISA bus. The connectors on the VESA riser card are aligned with those on the ISA riser board so that an installed VL-Bus card uses connectors on both the VESA riser card and the ISA riser board.
A VL-Bus expansion card installed in connector VL1 also uses connector ISA1 on the ISA riser board.
A VL-Bus expansion card installed in connector VL2 also uses connector ISA2 on the ISA riser board.
