The Conexant SmartHSFi V92 56K PCI modem features V.92 support. V.92 is a
standard that allows the modem to detect incoming calls while connected to the
Internet and place the ISP on hold while the user accepts the incoming call
(Modem-on-hold). After incoming call has ended, the modem has the ability to
return to the online state and resume the Internet connection. V.92 also
consists of V.44 (a data compression scheme geared towards Internet traffic),
Quick Connect (for shortening connection times), and PCM Upstream (to increase
modem throughput in the upstream direction.)
V.92 capability relies on support from the modem driver software and must
also be supported at the ISP. For Modem on hold, a modem-on-hold applet is
required to allow the user to make the "accept", "reject",
and "reconnect" choices.
In addition to V.92, the Conexant SmartHSFi V92 56K PCI modem has the following features:

Supports 2400, 4800,7200,9600, 12000, and 14400 bps fax transmission speeds.
Type 1 and 2 Caller ID (Type 2 only for Worldwide models).
Modem Capabilities: Enhanced low-power modes, digital PBX line protection,
and comprehensive user-friendly Windows-based modem diagnostics.
Operating Systems Supported: Windows 2000, Windows XP.
This modem does not support voice or digital private branch exchange (PBX).
