Overview Enabling/Disabling Gameport Joystick Interface
You might want to disable interfaces that you are not using to free
up resources, for example, when you do not have enough IRQ lines.
The Gameport Joystick interface on your audio card can be enabled or
disabled in Windows.
Microsoft Windows XP Operating System
To enable or disable the interface:
- Click Start -> Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel window, double-click the System icon.
- In the System Properties dialog box, click the Hardware tab.
- Click the Device Manager button.
- Double-click Sound, video and game controllers.
- Double-click Game Port for SB Live! Series.
- Click the General tab.
- In the Device usage box:
- To enable the interface, click the down arrow and select Do not use
this device (disable).
- To disable the interface, click the down arrow and select Use
this device (enable).
- Click the OK button for the change to take
effect.
