Reinstalling the Hardware Driver

To reinstall the Emuzed Angel Dual TV Tuner drivers, follow these steps:

  1. With Windows® running on your computer, insert the Dell Resource CD into your CD/DVD-ROM drive.
  2. If the Dell Resource CD window does not open automatically, double click on My Computer on your desktop and then double click on the CD/DVD-ROM drive containing the Dell Resource CD.
  3. Follow the instructions provided by the Dell Resource CD to locate the video driver package for your Emuzed Angel Dual TV Tuner card.
  4. Once you have located the package, select the Emuzed setup.exe to unzip the drivers on to the hard drive and install the drivers.
  5. At the Setup Complete screen, select Yes and click Finish to restart your system.

Common Problems and Solutions

PCI Card Installation
Problem Cause Solution
The computer will not boot. PCI card is not inserted properly. Remove and re-insert the PCI card into the motherboard.
The PCI slot on the computer motherboard PCI BUS is defective. Insert the PCI card into another PCI slot on the computer. (NOTE: This will cause the driver to re-install.)
Hardware Detection
Problem Cause Solution
Hardware not detected by Windows operating system. PCI card is not inserted properly. Remove and re-insert the PCI card into the motherboard.
The PCI slot on the computer motherboard PCI BUS is defective. Insert the PCI card into another PCI slot on the computer.
Plug-and-Play is not enabled in the computer's BIOS. Other card/driver added is conflicting with Angel Dual TV Tuner.
Drivers are not installed or are damaged. Driver not properly loaded. Run SETUP.EXE from the Dell Resource CD ROM.
The PCI card may be bad. Call Dell Tech Support.
Video Source
Problem Cause Solution
Video source not detected. Cables are damaged or connected incorrectly. Verify that the cables are correctly installed and in good condition.
The video format is not set correctly. Check that correct video source is selected in the software application. (Tuner, Composite, or S-Video). Close the application and reboot the PC.
Plug-and-Play is not enabled in the computer's BIOS. Other card/driver added is conflicting with Emuzed Angel Dual TV Tuner.
The PCI card may be bad. Remove and re-insert the PCI card into the motherboard. If the problem remains, call Dell Tech Support.
Audio & Video
Problem Cause Solution
No video in PC window. Inlay or video source may be incorrectly set. Choose the proper video source: Tuner or S-video or Composite. Make sure that the video source is powered and connected to the PCI card.
Poor performance (video jerky, audio noisy, etc.). System may not be optimized for performance. Verify that your hard disk is 5400 RPM or faster. This can not be done through software. Be sure that DMA is enabled for the hard disk. If you have multiple programs open, close applications that are not critical.
TV picture is bad. RF signal strength too low, noisy signal Verify that other channels work correctly by changing channels. If all channels are bad, check the antenna or install an RF amplifier.
No video capture. Application software may have stopped. Verify that video is present in the overlay window on the PC's monitor. If video is present on the PC's display, then restart the PC and then the software application.
Cables or video source may be non-functional. If no video is present on the PC's display, check that the cables are OK and the video source is on and operational.
Hard disk is full. Make room on your hard drive (delete some files) or use a different hard drive.
No audio capture. Application software may have stopped. Verify that video is present in the overlay window on the PC's monitor. If video is present on the PC's display, then restart the PC and then the software application.
Speakers are not connected. Verify that speakers are connected to the sound card in the PC.
Audio MUTE is on. Check that Mute is disabled and Volume is up.
Hard disk is full. Make room on your hard drive (delete some files) or use a different hard drive.
No audio during preview or capture with Windows Movie Maker. During the preview or capture of raw audio and video, no audio is heard. This is the normal behavior for Windows Movie Maker. Verify that audio can be heard when playing back the captured file.
Unable to perform raw audio/video capture. The audio and video source is not connected to the correct input connectors. Verify that the audio and video sources are connected to the channel 1 inputs (VID IN 1 and AUD IN 1) of the Emuzed Angel Dual TV Tuner card.
