Overview

The Promise FloppyMAX LS-120 controller board is specially designed for use with LS-120 drives, regardless of the motherboard platform or operating system. LS-120 drives can read and write to standard 720KB/1.44MB floppies as well as to the new LS-120 media with 120MB capacity. The onboard BIOS supports using any LS-120 drive as a fully bootable 120MB or 1.44MB disk.

Features

Features of the FloppyMAX LS-120 controller board include:

  • Dedicated ISA controller for up to two LS-120 drives (such as Imation or Mitsubishi) on a single ISA IDE/ATAPI channel
  • Use of a tertiary or quaternary address; the latter has the advantage of letting you keep your current IDE controller with its attached devices and using the FloppyMAX for your LS-120 only
  • Complete floppy operation and bootability from 3.5" or LS-120 media on any PC platform
  • Instant recognition of either 3.5" or LS-120 media
