 Important Information | Firmware update for "Samsung SC 148C 48X CDROM Drive" Dell P/N 9J255, 9J256
The update will create a bootable diskette that must be used under DOS (not under Windowed DOS box). This flash will update the drive's firmware to C005 The user will need to remove the floppy disc and then reboot the system before using the drive.
If the firmware reflash fails ( e.g., system hangs, etc. ), reboot the system and try again at least twice. |

Installation Instructions | * Follow these steps to install You will need a blank formatted 1.44MB floppy disk to proceed with the flashing process.
Steps to flash drive:
1. Download the D9J25503.exe file to a known directory.
2. Once the download is complete, navigate to the file and double click on it to run the executable.
3. Follow the instruction prompts provided.
4. Once the flash disk has been created, restart your computer with the floppy in drive A. The flash process will begin automatically.
5. Follow the instructions provided by the flash disk.
6. Once the flash process has been completed successfully, remove the diskette and reboot the system. |
